Hey everyone! I'm Jasmine and this is my first blog post.
And, this year, I've started secondary school! Year 7. Now, on the first day I was so scared but gradually, I've found amazing friends, understood the bus system, found my way around the school and survived our first few weeks of homework.
Here as some of feelings you might be having.
You may be super excited or you may have no idea what to expect. These things are both normal. But don't worry. Lost of people will be in the same position as you. Just remember, that you are not alone.
Here are some great tips to starting a new school or just moving up a year at your current school:
Think positive.
Put yourself out there. You have nothing to lose.
Try new things.
Give people a chance.
Stand up for yourself and others.
Some things that have happened at my school are:
House drama! I love drama and therefore participated in this amazing event.
Harvest Festival. This was great. Apparently, every year, the sixth-former's create a video related to Harvest. This year they created one based on the new Barbie Movie!
Year 7 had a history medieval day where we learnt about the the feudal system; going up to heaven; and finally a session where we split off into 'different households.' A household was a group of people who lived on the same bit of land. It was a very fun day.
We had a session with 'the animal man.' We met a millipede (not a centipede; they bite) we met a tarantula
Byee! 😉
